| Battlenet Payment Problem... |
[Nov. 7th, 2009|06:50 pm] |
Hey all,
I don't know if anyone here has had this problem before, but I thought that I would come and ask anyway.
Just recently I decided that I would come back and play WOW again. I quit back in late July, and by then I had already merged with Battlenet. Today I tried to set up a payment subscription with my credit card, and I got an "Unspecified Error"... Hmm, OK. So I try a few more times and I still get the same error. I then tried a different credit card, and I still got the same error.
I then returned to my Account Management page and see that my "License Information" says that my account is Frozen. Understandable considering I don't have a subscription set up... But right below it, it says that I have 1 Month Recurring in game time. That's weird. I also seem to have the option to "Cancel Subscription", even though I don't even have a subscription set up.
So I go ahead and click cancel subscription. I'm prompted to fill out a quick survey, why I'm cancelling, etc. I then hit confirm, and of course I'm forwarded to a page confirming that I canceled my subscription. I also then get an e-mail confirming that I canceled my subscription... And that my game time is valid until August 19th 2009. Uhh... Its November already! The "Cancel Subscription" option was still there... And I went through the process of canceling my nonexistent subscription about five times, each time with the same result.
Im not sure. I think its a glitch on the website or something. Trying to log into the game, it says that Ive run out of game time (yes). And my account is set to Frozen (yes). However I still have the option to cancel my subscription...? I guess for some reason Battlenet thinks that I have a payment set-up, which is why I can't set up a new subscription?
Im sorry if this doesnt make any sense... Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how they got around it. Ive sent an e-mail off to Billing, but I doubt Ill get a response until next week. And even then I dont think its going to completely valid. I may have to call... Grrr...

[Nov. 7th, 2009|01:14 am] |
So, after a bit of poking and prodding, my guild finally took a crack at TotGC10 this evening. :D Super fun! Gormok wasn't a problem, but we did run up against some issues with the worms, mostly due to positions during the burrowing/transition phase. But! We got them down. ^^ Took 20 attempts, but we did it on our first night of tries. Whoot! So happy!
Screenie here.
Just needed to squee. YAY HARDMODES! |

| Arms warrior gemming questions |
[Nov. 6th, 2009|11:52 pm] |
I have a few questions about Arms gemming that I hope you can help me with. I have an Armor Penetration rating of 440/31.44% without any ArP gems. I'm gemmed completely for Strength at the moment but I've been doing some reading and many people say to gem for Armor Pen over Strength if you have 30% ArP or above in your armor (not including ArP gems) - what do my fellow Arms warriors/other knowledgeable people think about this? Should I regem for ArP or stick with Strength? *confuzzled*
Also, is there a certain amount of crit I should be aiming for as Arms? I currently have 30.26% crit in Battle Stance. Do I need to gem for more? |

I need a little help analyzing holy pallies before a guildie shelves his toon out of frustration.
Here's my gear and talent spec: www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml
My stats are: 2224 Spellpower 374 Haste 374/303 Mana Regen 990 Intellect 27.38% Holy Crit
Here's my guildmate's gear and talent spec: www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml
His stats are: 2216 Spellpower 361 Haste 370/314 Mana Regen 1051 Intellect 21.83% Holy Crit
The talent specs are slightly different due to play style and preference.
The issue is ... completely unbuffed my FoLs are healing consistently for 3800 and critting for 5600. His Flashes are consistently healing for 2700 and critting for 4100. What would account for that kind of discrepancy?? I have some better gear than him here and there but that's only going to affect the stats which are now very similar. Statwise my crit is higher and I assumed that would make the difference, but he pointed out, rightfully so I think, that that shouldn't affect the baseline heals by more than 1000.
Does anyone have a clue?

| First twink! |
[Nov. 6th, 2009|06:49 pm] |
Hi ladies :D Sooo... I have always hated PvP. Always.
Until about a month ago, when I respecced and realized that was my problem >>;; BGs really aren't that bad after all!
So now I'm curious about twinking, because I've heard so much about it but have never tried it. I have a little hunter I did some WSG with, and I think I'd like to make her a 29 twink. She is currently 20. I also just tamed the very loud (but very cute) spider Zarakh from Bloodmyst Isle to be my PvP pet.
I've been looking at guides, but they have a whole lot of conflicting information, so it hasn't really been too helpful :| Either that, or they're pretty outdated (the best one I found was from 2007!), so I don't know if they're really all that relevant anymore. I mean, I know level 29 gear hasn't changed that much, but as far as enchants, professions, etc... not so much.
Do any of you have current guides you really like? Anything I should be doing on my main to help (BoE drops that can be farmed, for example)? Any quest rewards I should keep an eye out for?
Thanks ladies ;3 |

Sometimes, it's all you can do.
Get home from a long day at work and every space at your apartment complex is full - except the ones that are a good quarter-mile away from any place that resembles your place of residence. (Sure, they all look alike, but your key only works for one.)
Someone introduces you to someone new and you don't know why, but you don't like them. All it really took was a look, but that was enough to know.
Said person makes a joke. It's really not all that funny. You know the one. "What has four legs and can fly? Two birds." Yeah, not so sure about that one.
Your kitten poops on the floor. But she's cute. Oh well. (Yeah, not taking that one from real life or anything, but, um, does anyone have any tips about that?)
I had a day like that on Tuesday. I went with a friend to a lady's house to do some household chore-type things.
Did you read Harry Potter? Do you remember Dolores Umbridge?
Now, imagine an entire house decorated like...that, and you'll see what I was subjecting myself to.
Except replace the kitten plates with geese and you're spot-on.
She was preparing for a garage sale this weekend.
Now, said lady still thinks she lives in 1985 (before I was born - by the way, my birthday is in 18 days).
She also does not comprehend the meaning of the word "depreciate." As in, "This GPS from 1999 that you're still trying to sell for $200 has depreciated in value because it can barely hold the map updates and is the size of a small television set."
Same applies for clothing. Your 1989 silk top with shoulder pads out the wazoo would only sell if people were trying to buy things for an ugly party (or if they had the same taste as you do, which I doubt completely, ma'am).
Anna and I paraded the contents of her closet in front of her as she relaxed on the sofa.
"Don't take less than $15 for that top and bottom together." "$5 for that shirt." "Oh, no. I couldn't possibly get rid of that - it only takes thirty minutes to dry on a clothesline!" (I heard that one way too many times.)
I committed the cardinal sin about midway through the shoulder pad extravaganza. I pulled out a dickie (who knew you could buy clothes from Lillian Vernon, the place my grandma goes to for silver contact lens cases and personalized remote control caddies?) that had clearly seen better days and pronounced it "old."
Anna's jaw almost hit the floor, but Umbridge just smiled at me and said, "Well, it's going back in my closet, so I guess that doesn't matter."
Okay. I guess I just couldn't take it anymore. Clothes that would've been ten times better off being donated to Goodwill were only serving to fill this lady's pockets (despite the fact that she's going to find herself incredibly shocked come the yard sale tomorrow morning). She said she couldn't donate anything because it might end up in a family's house that she didn't approve of. And she...well, she only seemed to really approve of people that were similar to herself. As in, white. I was a little shocked to say the least. So I called a stained, yellowed, wrinkled article of clothing "old." I think it was the least I could do in this situation. I felt like I did it for social justice.
But I'm broke. I need the cash. And even if she's paying people $1000 to do work that won't even net her a cent...
Well, what else could I do? It's not like my protests would change her mind. Whether I want to believe it or not, there are people like her everywhere.
So I just smiled and said, "Yes, ma'am."

| A rogue in need, is a rogue indeed... |
[Nov. 7th, 2009|10:46 am] |
Dear wonderful wow_ladies,
I am in need of some help. My rogue hit 80 a few nights ago and because i am a noob (heehee) I am a bit unsure of how to use her properly, now that i'm 80. Some of my gear is a bit rubbish, mainly because people request you be super geared to get into N ToC (sigh) and we don't have enough 80's in our guild to do runs (again, sigh). Here is my armory: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Thaurissan&n=Charamber
Any thoughts on what gears i should get? Or anything? Haha.
I also need help on how to use her, like, how should i go about using her in instances. I didn't do too badly in normal instances, but as soon as i got into a N ToC, i was constantly being told i was fail, which makes for a sad rogue.
Any help is appreciated. |

| BWAHA, hunters, ready your tomatoes. |
[Nov. 6th, 2009|06:53 pm] |
But I just have to boast about my insane luck tonight.
My guildie has been stalking the spirit cat in Scholozar for a while now, dealing with finding it dead and long searches and the whatnot. But finally, he got it, tonight! I was slightly inspired and figured, well, I like the look of Skoll... my hunter, Artema, has BM as an offspec... I should go peek around.
I saved a map, got a pair of add-ons to look for him with, and got ready for a long, long haul. I only had an hour until I was going on a Naxx raid anyway, so it seemed kind futile, and I presumed I'd be doing it again tomorrow.
Um. Well.
Hee. :D |

Well ladies, this week I've been plagued with nerd rage. Like, I think my guild is afraid of me. Which I may or may not use to my advantage when I finally put my plan of World Domination into action and my peons stop getting in my way (well, I think so Amy, but where are we going to find a duck and a hose at this hour?).
So what I need to close out a long week is a nice, happy post.
Your task today that I stole from the general forums, (a larger hive of scum and villainy you've never seen, so tread carefully if you wish to witness it):
What changes to the game, since you've started playing, have you enjoyed the most? What old mechanics are you gosh darned happy never to see again? |

| | giggly | ] | So. One of my favorite occasional pastimes in RPGs is to play as a female character, and attempt to woo the other eyecandy in my party. You know, see how far they will allow the dialogue tree to warp.
Depending on the programmers of the game, my advances usually fail outright or come off as subtly humorous, though they have been know to range up to full on blue alien lesbian shenanigans.
I admit, I was somewhat angered when Natsume decided to remove the girl-girl couples from of the english versions of Harvest Moon.
But I'm playing Dragon Age right now, and my main character happens to be an adorable little gothy elf chick. I've recruited a haughty swamp witch, who resembles Bayonetta's younger sister with huge boobs and very little interest in covering them up. She's all tsundere and holier-than-thou, though the right dialogue choices have caused her to slip a little...
"S... Stupid hero character...it's not like I like you or anything."
And now..... I've recruited the requisite yuri-friendly priestess. Thank you, Bioware. Thank you.
She's a beautiful redhead with a slightly French-ish accent who, when she's not going on about the sweet forbidden fruit that is the young initiate priestesses in the chantry order, is harassing the swamp witch with impure ogling and expressing her desire to play dress-up. I'm not sure which PC characters are "romance" options yet, but I have high hopes for one or the otherboth.
Based on the first few hours of play, this is not exactly how I expected the game to progress, but somehow... I'm okay with it.
...And I feel like I ought to write a complete review of the game, rather than continuing to harass my friends and associates with constant updates via AIM. |

| Pouch halp? |
[Nov. 6th, 2009|10:42 am] |
I'm looking to make a Final Fantasy X-2 Yuna gunner costume. and she has this pouch. The more I look at it in 3D the more I feel it should be made from leather or suede.
( picture under cut )
the thing is, I've NEVER worked with leather before. And I have no clue how to go about it, is there a certain way it should be treated that's different from other fabrics? Should I be using a different type of need? Any other information that I should know would be greatly appreciated

| Offer of Guild Sigs, and Screenshots of Natural Environments |
[Nov. 6th, 2009|10:09 am] |
One of the things I love most in WoW is the community and random acts of help and kindness that get spread along, from helping someone dying in a fight as you wander by, or helping with bank guild siggies.
I created a toon that does nothing but sign guild charters, or otherwise helping folks out with a guild matters. Let me know if you can use some help, I can hop on her and offer a signature for your guild charter.
BLADEFIST SERVER HORDE SIDE
I did this because I knew some friends like me who had probs getting their bank guild or 'other' guild charter signed, and I think charging money for this is kinda lame unless there is some real inconvenience involved (and usually there isn't)
I've also found it handy when someone wanted to swap out which of their own toons were Guild Master. For example, to get a toon out of the guild to play again, and make a dedicated toon the bank owner, you have to have another player too made into the GM and then have them give your new toon the position. And having a ready made non-guilded character saves the time of making a new non-guilded toon each time you want to help someone.
I also love taking screenshots as I travel, and wish someone would design a camera add on that you could use to really have a camera style commands to use such as close ups and using verticle space, to make the images larger than you get with cropping a screen pic. But here are some of my screenshots behind the cut....these aren't my 'artsy' ones, but just taken to illustrate some aspects of the graphical world design that I find remarkable. ( Click for some fun Environmental landscape shots I took. . . . )
EDITED: To add discussion of Guild issues, and add in Screenshots of Interest, and spelling (empirical english please!)

[Nov. 6th, 2009|08:18 am] |
I just had the most amazing night, and I had to share it! (cause everyone I know is asleep *sad*)
For fun, I joined a late night raiding group that likes to do older raids for fun and tier pieces and such. We decided to run Serpent Shrine Cavern and Tempest Keep tonight so that was cool.
We got to Tempest Keep and since we had almost a full raid we stomped our way through, downed Kael'thas while having Dancing Queen by ABBA playing over Vent, and...
( Holy crap look what dropped! (image heavy post) )
